Factory

Uncategorized

When I become exhausted,
I begin to feel myself falling asleep.
I feel all of my mechanisms
pulling their brakes
and gears screeching
to a stop.
This happens
so quickly
that I often jolt
my torso
in response
to all the released
energy.
My pumping blood
seems to find its
way to my heart
and fill it to the brim
like ringing the bell
on a carnival strength test.
I live outside of my body
just enough to hover,
horrified by the
sudden moment
of factory stop.
