Paper planes
and boats
and hats
and lanterns.
Just about anything
can be changed
from paper
to awe,
taking flight
or sea
or as attire
or as light.
We have always seemed like
either cuts or soaring tree dust.
We fold into origami
or rip.
How talented you
play with paper hearts
or planes and boats.
We used to fold and crumple in the summer
and now we write
words of love
on our dreams.
Such crafty mind
you possess,
making me feel
like I can be anything
like paper,
or destroyed
like the large oak
used to make
or boats
or hats.
